It's Official: John C. Dvorak has changed his name to Dvorak.org/blog
by Kamal El-Din
Dvorak.org/blogUnconfirmed sources report that internet personality John C. Dvorak has legally changed his name to Dvorak.org/blog. Dvorak.org/blog filed papers with the Carbondale Illinois city clerk Wayne Nuttly and made the name change totally legal. The name change caught few by surprise as Dvorak.org/blog has been going by Dvorak.org/blog for several months.

"I for one was surprised." admitted Leo Laporte, a long time friend and host of the podcast This Week in Tech, on which Dvorak.org/blog is a frequent guest. "I'm usually pretty up on these things and I gotta tell you, it me sent for a bit of a loop. John…I mean Dvorak.org/blog is a really good friend, but I just didn't see it coming. It makes sense though, if you think about it. Dvorak.org/blog's internet presence is as big as his physical one, so I makes sense just to merge the two."

"This is the first time on record that a person has taken a URL as a name. As far as I can tell." Said City Clerk Nuttly. "I think it's a little kooky, but who am I to say what is crazy. Heck, I'm so out of touch I thought Cannon was going to keep making small cameras forever. Never can tell really..."

Dvorak.org/blog spoke to a throng of reporters this morning and explained why he made the change.

"I'm lazy." Said Dvorak.org/blog. " I just got tired of saying 'Hi gorgeous I'm John C. Dvorak and you can read my blog at Dvorak.org/blog.' Now all I have to say is 'Hi gorgeous name is Dvorak.org/blog' it really cuts down on a lot of wasteful verbiage. I can't tell you how much more I can get done with the time I've saved. I've even been able to fire half my staff, because of the time I now have to actually do some writing myself. I gotta tell you… it's liberating."

Experts have not been able to come to agreement on whether this will start a major trend. "It's kind of like the computer mouse. When the mouse first came out the people who knew anything about anything thought it wouldn't go anywhere." Says Patrick Norton, a friend of Dvorak.org/blog. " Dvorak.org/blog has always been out front, I guess only time will tell if anybody is following him."
