 Florida- This week Drag Performer RuPaul threw her/his support to Mike Huckabee's Republican presidential bid. "I believe Mike Huckabee is the best of several fine candidates to lead America," the Drag Queen said in a news release three days before voters go to the polls in the GOP primary.
"As America faces tough times, Mike Huckabee has the character, integrity, and proven leadership to ensure our greatest days are yet to come." said RuPaul.
The former Arkansas governor said in a statement that he was pleased "to have the support of a drag queen with such a solid record of achievement and a reputation for hard work and being a servant of the people, who shares my commitment to conservative governance."
RuPaul planned to join Huckabee and other supporters, including former Gov. David Beasley, actor Chuck Norris and professional wrestler Ric Flair, at campaign events throughout the state Thursday.
RuPaul who gained fame in the 1990s; appearing in a wide variety of television programs, films, and musical albums. Though a catty attitude is often associated with drag queens, RuPaul intentionally displayed a "love one another" attitude to be set apart from them.
