(Wall Street : New York) Ucs News– George Bush flew to New York yesterday to survey the damage from Wall Streets Bank Collapse, which devastated the world financial markets over the weekend, Downing at least 4 major firms, forcing the taxpayers to spend billions in bailout funds.
The president, who was lambasted for his inattention to New Orleans’ recovery after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, rushed to visit Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange. Bush spoke to bank officials and flew over the financial wreckage to inspect the horrific damage.
He said that demand for emergency funds has been met, and that helping displaced bankers to get back to work was a major prority. He then asked Americans to “donate” their hard earned tax dollars, saying: “I hope the country does not have disaster fatigue.”
