GONZALES RESIGNS, BUSH APPOINTS HIM TO THE SUPREME COURT

Washington– Finally yielding to pressure from just about everyone in Washington, except his stalwart friend, the President, Alberto Gonzales submitted his resignation as Attorney General of the United States today, “but does not recall it.”
Immediately following Gonzales’ resignation, President Bush appointed him as an additional member of the Supreme Court.

Gonzales thankled the president today. ” I don’t recall exactly when he appointed me, but it certainly is a great honor. I will do exactly what he requests of me, as I always have.”

Although congressional confirmation is necessary, President Bush brushed it aside. ” I’m the Commander in Chief of this country. Screw the Congress, I know better than they do. I can appoint anyone I want, and if Congress doesn’t like it, I can fire the whole damned bunch!

Worried about their jobs, perks, graft and corruption, no fearful congressman would speak for the record, and in view of the President’s threat, Gonzales was quickly and unanimously approved.
