It's a Miracle; Teri Schiavo is Awake, Hungry and Really Pissed At Tom Delay, Bill Frist and Geor…

Unconfirmed sources Florida Bureau reports a stunning medical miracle, Teri Schiavo has regained consciousness! Early this morning the Hospice doctors that have been treating Ms. Schiavo were shocked to find she had regained consciousness. Schiavo apparently sat up this morning and demanded breakfast. Her first words upon waking were “Boy am I hungry.”

After eating a hearty breakfast brought in from a nearby Denny’s restaurant Schiavo spent several hours meeting with her family and her lawyers. Schiavo a registered independent is reportedly very upset that Republican law makers Tom Delay, Bill Frist and George W. Bush have used her medical condition as a political tool to curry favor with right wing religious groups. She has demanded to speak with the press when her doctors give her permission.

Ms. Schiavo, reportedly, can’t believe the hypocrisy of such men. She is particularly pissed off at Bill Frist for making a medical diagnosis based on a videotape, “Hell, Frist isn’t even a neurologist!” says Schiavo. She also finds it highly ironic that George W. Bush signed a law in Texas that expressly gave hospitals the right to remove life support if the patient could not pay and there was no hope of revival, regardless of the patient’s family’s wishes. It is called the Texas Futile Care Law. (Under this law, a baby was removed from life support against his mother’s wishes in Texas just this week.)

Ms. Schiavo is also pissed off about the Presidents new budget that will cut the funding for Medicaid, which is paying much of the tab for her care. The rest her care is being paid for from the proceeds of a medical malpractice suit, which the President is also trying to cut. If the President and Republican leaders have their way people like Schiavo we be forced to stay on life support but only as long as the money keeps coming.

Speaking at her bedside her husband stated, “I hope that Americans can see through these phonies.”
