(CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina, Ucs News) Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards said Thursday his wife’s cancer has returned but his bid for the White House will continue. “The campaign goes on,” Edwards said contradicting earlier media reports. Republican contender, Newt Gingrich, recommended that John Edwards divorce his sick wife “It worked for me…twice.”
Newt Gingrich’s serial wife-dumping experience makes him an expert in the field. In 1981, Newt dumped his first wife of 19 years,Jackie Battley. While Jackie was in the hospital undergoing cancer treatment he gave her the boot. Newts second wife Marianne was let go on 1999 after found out about Newt’s long-running affair with Callista Bisek, his one-time congressional aide. Gingrich asked Marianne for the divorce by phoning her on Mother’s Day, 1999.
Gingrich’s most recent ex-wife says he ditched her eight months after finding out she had multiple sclerosis. Marianne Gingrich, 48, shopping a book proposal “both personal and political” about how women are treated in D.C., says the ex-speaker of the House told her on Mother’s Day 1999 that he wanted a divorce, after learning she had a neurological condition that could lead to MS.
Upon hearing about the return of Elizabeths cancer Gingrich remarked “I told Edwards he should have divorced her in 2005 after she recovered from her first bout with cancer, he would be in the clear by now.”
Gingrich is a man that never let his personal relationships effect is political ambitions. As speaker of the House Newt blasted them President Bill Clinton for infidelity while Gingrich himself enjoyed his own adulterous affair.
