McCain's Troubled Campaign : Iranian President withdraws endorsement

(WASHINGTON: Ucs News) — Republican presidential hopeful John McCain is known for having a quirky sense of humor but a joked about bombing Iran has cost his campaign dearly. In the wake of McCains insensitive remarks Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated “as President of a proud nation of Iran, I can no longer support John McCain’s Presidential campaign.”

Ahmadinejad then demanded the McCain reply Iran the 4 million dollars it donated to his campaign. How did it all go so wrong for McCain? In response to an audience question about military action against Iran, the Arizona senator briefly sang the chorus of the surf-rocker classic ”Barbara Ann.” ”That old, eh, that old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran,” chuckling with the crowd. Then, he softly sang to the melody: ”Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran….. ..”

The audience responded with laughter but McCain’s middle east backers did not see the humor.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said “Iran is embroiled in a fight with the West over our rights, including our right to have a peaceful nuclear Program”

Ahmadinejad stated “The United States is not a peaceful nation and must be dealt with firmly.” Iran seeks a diplomatic resolution to the standoff but has not ruled out military action if that fails.

Critics of McCain are watching to see if the senator can remove his foot from his mouth long enough to apologize.
