(Washington D.C.) It has been tough week for Republicans in Congress and the President. The GOP fortunes seemed to be on the up swing following a series of fear mongering 9/11 speeches by the President but the momentum has ebbed from the Administration. The shadow of 9/11 has faded and a harsh light has fallen on Washington.
A harsh light that is showing a stunning lack of progress and a political party more interested in maintaining power than serving the people of the United States of America. In the passed 6 years The President has used the fear of terror to cover an irresponsible and regressive domestic agenda. All the while pursuing a foreign policy that has made America the most hated nation in the world.
The harsh light has now fallen on Dennis Hastert and Mark Foley men with no interest in what is right for America. Others are now coming from the shadows, Tom Delay, Grover Norquist, Karl Rove, Jack Abromoff and Ralph Reed the self serving political operatives that sold our Democracy to the highest bidder. Just as the kitchen light sends the roaches scattering, so will the November election.
The tide is turning to sweep away this rubber stamp Republican Congress. A congress that has sent our sons to die in the sands of Iraq while giving our hard earned tax dollars to the oil companies that funded their campaigns. A body of men that stood aside while the Bush Administration spent our children’s fortune, shredded our Constitution and tortured our world image.
