WASHINGTON, Ucs News wire – The nation’s highest-ranking military officer said Tuesday that he only wants “straight” guys getting killed in iraq. The officer, Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs expressed his thoughts in an interview with the Chicago Tribune.
The officer, Gen. Peter Pace re-ignited a smoldering debate on Monday over the armed services’ policy, telling the editorial board of The Chicago Tribune that he believed homosexual conduct was immoral and akin to adultery.
He went on to explain that Adultery is “voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a partner other than the lawful spouse and that some legal jurisdictions have defined it as a “crime against marriage” ,as opposed to infidelity. Pace also explained the sin of adultery should disqualify both Republican presidential candidates Rudy Rudy Giuliani and Newt Gingrich.
Gay rights advocacy groups denounced General Pace’s remarks on Tuesday and demanded an apology. Even staunch supporters of the military, including Senator John W. Warner of Virginia, the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, criticized General Pace for his statements.
According to Senator Warner, “we should not be paying any attention to a guy like Peter Pace.” We agree, why waste our time listening to a pompous stuffed shirt like Pace. I have not asked Jesse jackson to tell us his military strategy, why would you ask the chairman of the Joint Chiefs to discuss human rights.
