“I love WikiLeaks!” says Mr. Trump. “It’s amazing how nothing is secret today when you talk about the Internet. Jullian will be a tremendous asset to FOIA. He is going to make sure that all of our secrets are shared with the public.”
This is quite the turn about for Mr Trump as in 2010 he said that, “I think it’s disgraceful, I think there should be like death penalty or something.”
“I’m not sure how this is going to work.” Says government secrecy expert Ben Chattsworth. “Julian Assange has made a career of releasing secrets others want to hold close. I just don’t see how Trump will get along with the guy who is a willing pawn of Vladimir Putin. On second thought, Mr. Trump seems to get along all right with Rex Tillerson.”
