Trump Visits Toxic Site to Announce Weakening of Environmental Standards

(Willow Run, Michigan) Unconfirmed Sources report that Mr. Trump will announce the weakening of automotive environmental standards while standing on a toxic waste site.  Tuesday Mr. Trump will announce the weakening of Cafe Standards, the rules that govern the minimum mileage for new automobiles while visiting Willow Run, Michigan.

The site of the announcement is the former location of the GM Willow Run Power Train Plant.  The area is a highly polluted site, one of 66 vacant sites GM was allowed to abandon during its 2009 bankruptcy. The cleanup of this site is now the responsibility of taxpayers.

The Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE)standards are regulations in the United States, first enacted by the United States Congress in 1975, after the 1973-74 Arab Oil Embargo, to improve the average fuel economy of cars and light trucks (trucks, vans and sport utility vehicles) produced for sale in the United States.

The standards have helped to limit the amount of CO2 emitted into the environment and stimulated the development of high mileage and non-gasoline burning vehicles.

The real story.
