Why Did We Bother to Liberate Italy From Hitler Anyway?

From the right and always right, commentary by Randy Wright.

For those of you who haven’t heard the news Italy has been officially placed in the “Against Us” column in our fight to win the WAR ON TERROR. Yesterday the weak kneed Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi said that he would begin withdrawing Italy’s 3,000 troops from Iraq by September.

So, how can I put this delicately? Silvio Berlusconi, you are a pussy. There, I said it, it needed to be said so there you have it. I just can’t believe that you guys are backing out on us. After we bailed your butts out during the big one, this is how you pay us back? I’m not sure liberating your country was worth it in the end. Here we are battling for the heart and soul of the western world and you guys conk out like Fiat. Typical.

This just burns my back side. Italy, our staunchest alley in the WAR ON TERROR, except for Poland and Belarus, has decided to take a powder. Just when things are getting better those cowardly Italians are putting their tails between their legs and hightailing it back to Rome. I bet they will be hiding behind the robes of the Pope before you can say freedon is on the march.

I just hope this is not in response to The US Military nearly killing Giuliana Sgrena that rebel rouser of journalist who works for the leftist Il Manifesto newspaper. I mean, come on, she is journalist in Iraq, she should expect to be shot at by American forces. I do feel bad about the death of the Italian intelligence agent Nicola Calipari, though, secret agents getting killing is just never a good thing.

Mr. Bush do us a favor and get tough with the Italians, get them back in line. Threaten to lob a couple of nukes into downtown Rome if they don’t straighten up. Do what you gott’a do to keep the coalition of the willing strong. The world is depending on you to be strong in the face of all thoughtful and reasoned resistance to THE WAR ON TERROR.

So there you have it. I’m Randy Wright, from the right and always right.
