X Prize Foundation Announces Autonomous Killer Robot Challenge

Unconfirmed sources report that the X Prize Foundation will launch another challenge to foster development of autonomous killer robots. The new Cyberdyne Corporation X PRIZE is an international competition designed to inspire a new generation autonomous killer robots. The independent and technology-neutral competition is open to teams from around the world that can design, build and bring to market the most lethal autonomous killer robot.

Peter H. Diamandis, Chairman & CEO of the X Prize Foundation spoke to reporters today and announced the competition.

“The development of autonomous killer robots has languished over the last few years. Cybedyne Corporation and the X Prize Foundation believe the development of autonomous killer robots is key to propelling us into the future, and so we are proud to launch this newest challenge.”

The final rules of the Cyberdyne Autonomous Killer Robot Challenge have yet to be finalized, but Cyberdyne Corporation has put up 10 million dollars for the purse.
